Anti-RPGR Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com raised against the retinitis pigmentosa GTPase regulator (RPGR), this unconjugated primary antibody targets a protein localized primarily to the connecting cilium of photoreceptors. RPGR is an X-linked gene product involved in intraflagellar cargo trafficking and is implicated in X-linked retinitis pigmentosa, cone-rod dystrophy, and other inherited retinal ciliopathies.

The antibody is supplied as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Short-term storage at 4°C is supported, with longer-term preservation by aliquoting and freezing at -20°C recommended to limit activity loss across repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Validation has been performed for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human, mouse, and rat samples, making it well suited for retinal biology, ophthalmology, and ciliopathy research. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage for probing variant RPGR isoforms, including the predominant RPGR-ORF15 transcript expressed in the retina.
