RING1 (Really Interesting New Gene 1) is a catalytic subunit of the Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) that acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, monoubiquitinating histone H2A on lysine 119 to enforce transcriptional silencing of developmental regulators and X-linked genes. This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is an unconjugated rabbit IgG polyclonal reagent validated for Western blot (WB) detection of endogenous RING1 in human and rat cell and tissue lysates.

Each vial contains 200 µl of antiserum, sufficient for multiple Western blot experiments detecting the expected ~42 kDa RING1 band. Researchers commonly apply this reagent to studies of Polycomb-mediated chromatin compaction, embryonic stem cell pluripotency, lineage commitment, and the epigenetic deregulation observed in cancer. The unconjugated format permits pairing with a diverse selection of secondary antibodies for chemiluminescent or fluorescent detection.

For long-term storage, aliquot the reagent and freeze at -20 °C; protect from light and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity. Short-term refrigerated storage at 4 °C is appropriate for active use. Intended for research use only; not for diagnostic applications.
