RGS9 (Regulator of G-protein signaling 9) is a GTPase-activating protein that accelerates GTP hydrolysis on heterotrimeric G-protein α subunits, terminating downstream signaling cascades triggered by photoreceptor and dopamine receptor activation. This rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody from Antibodies.com targets the mouse RGS9 protein and is validated for Western Blot detection across mouse tissue samples.

The unconjugated reagent is supplied as a 50 µl volume of polyclonal antiserum, suited to probing RGS9 expression in research relevant to retinal phototransduction and striatal dopamine signaling, where the two RGS9 isoforms — RGS9-1 in rod photoreceptors and RGS9-2 in medium spiny neurons — play essential roles in signal termination. Because the antibody was raised against mouse RGS9, it is most informative in mouse model systems studying visual or motor pathway function.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody binds multiple epitopes on the RGS9 target, supporting reproducible western blot detection of the expected band in mouse brain and retinal lysates. Standard immunoblotting workflows using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies are fully compatible with this unconjugated primary antibody, and standard short-term storage at 4°C is appropriate for routine laboratory handling.
