Anti-RGS2 Antibody

A rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com raised against an internal-region fusion protein of human Regulator of G-protein Signaling 2 (RGS2, approximately 24 kDa), supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated liquid at 1.4 mg/mL in PBS pH 7.3 with 0.05% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Antigen affinity purified, the reagent specifically detects endogenous levels of total RGS2 protein and is validated for ELISA, western blot, and immunohistochemistry on human and rat specimens. Representative western blot data show a clear band on 12% SDS-PAGE using 40 µg of human fetal lung lysate at a 1/800 primary dilution with a 40-second exposure, and immunohistochemistry has been confirmed at a 1/20 dilution on paraffin-embedded human brain tissue. The target, also known as G0S8 or G0/G1 switch regulatory protein 8, is a GTPase-activating protein that accelerates GTP hydrolysis on heterotrimeric G-protein alpha subunits, modulating downstream GPCR signaling relevant to vascular smooth muscle contractility, blood pressure regulation, T-cell receptor signaling, and anxiety-related neural circuits. The vial is shipped cold at 4°C; upon arrival it should be aliquoted and stored at -20 °C, with freeze-thaw cycles limited to preserve binding activity across multiple experiments.
