Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation in 200 µl, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the human RGS11 protein for Western blot detection. RGS11 (Regulator of G-Protein Signaling 11) belongs to the R12 subfamily of RGS proteins and acts as a GTPase-activating component of Gβ5-containing complexes, accelerating GTP hydrolysis on Gα subunits to terminate G-protein signaling cascades. The protein is most strongly expressed in retinal ON bipolar cells, where it shapes the temporal response of mGluR6 signaling that underlies dim-light vision.

Validated for Western blot, this affinity-purified polyclonal reagent detects endogenous human RGS11 and is widely cited in published neuroscience and vision research on rodent tissue. Storage at -20°C in working aliquots limits freeze-thaw cycles, with brief handling at 4°C. The unconjugated format allows researchers to couple the antibody to HRP, fluorophores, or biotin as their assay requires, and the IgG backbone supports standard chemiluminescent Western blot workflows.

Typical uses include profiling RGS11/Gβ5 complex assembly in retinal tissue, mapping expression across central nervous system regions, and studying G-protein pathway regulation in disease models. Each preparation is generated under controlled immunisation conditions to support reproducible Western blot band patterns across lots.
