RFX5 is a transcription factor in the regulatory factor X (RFX) family that binds X-box DNA motifs in MHC class II gene promoters and is essential for constitutive and interferon-gamma-induced class II expression. This Anti-RFX5 Antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent validated for immunofluorescence (IF) detection of the human protein in cell-based imaging workflows.

Supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated antibody, the reagent supports researchers investigating antigen presentation pathways, bare lymphocyte syndrome type II (where loss-of-function RFX5 mutations disrupt class II expression), and CIITA-RFX-RFXAP-RFXANK complex assembly at MHC II promoters. The polyclonal format provides multi-epitope recognition of native RFX5, an advantage for capturing the protein in its various chromatin-bound and cytoplasmic states.

Because RFX5 acts upstream of surface MHC II loading, this antibody is commonly applied in immunology research to characterize class II expression in patient-derived cell lines, primary B cells, dendritic cells, and engineered knockout models. Staining protocols typically pair this primary reagent with fluorescent secondary antibodies for confocal or widefield microscopy.

For storage, refrigerate upon arrival, aliquot to reduce freeze-thaw cycles, and protect from extended light exposure to preserve fluorescence-grade performance in downstream IF assays.
