RFX5 is a member of the regulatory factor X (RFX) family of transcription factors and acts as the master regulator of MHC class II gene expression by binding the conserved X-box motif in MHC class II promoters. Loss-of-function mutations in RFX5 cause bare lymphocyte syndrome type II (BLS II), a primary immunodeficiency marked by the absence of MHC class II surface expression on antigen-presenting cells. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG antibody, raised against human RFX5, is supplied as a 100 µl vial and is validated for immunofluorescence (IF) on human samples. Researchers use it to map antigen presentation pathways, characterize RFX complex occupancy at MHC class II loci, and analyse the cellular consequences of genetic defects in MHC class II regulation.
