This unconjugated polyclonal reagent, raised in rabbit, recognizes human Replication Factor C subunit 1 (RFC1), the largest subunit of the heteropentameric RFC complex that loads proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) onto primed DNA during replication and repair. The 100 µl antibody preparation from Antibodies.com is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows and has been applied in studies of the DNA damage response, nucleotide excision repair, and the intronic AAGGG repeat expansions in RFC1 that were recently identified as a leading genetic cause of cerebellar ataxia with neuropathy and bilateral vestibular areflexia syndrome (CANVAS). The reagent is reactive specifically with the human target and is commonly used to probe endogenous RFC1 expression by immunoblotting of cell lysates, ELISA-based quantification of recombinant protein, and characterization of chromatin-associated replication factors. Researchers investigating replication fork stability, PCNA clamp loading, or RFC1-related repeat-expansion disorders use this reagent on human cell lines, patient-derived samples, and isogenic control models. For best results, refrigerate at 2 to 8 degrees C in working aliquots and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity over time.
