Anti-RECQL4 Antibody

The target RECQL4 belongs to the RecQ family of DNA helicases, enzymes that unwind double-stranded DNA using energy from ATP hydrolysis. RECQL4 supports the initiation of DNA replication and participates in DNA repair pathways that preserve chromosomal stability. Loss-of-function mutations in the human RECQL4 gene cause autosomal recessive disorders such as Rothmund–Thomson syndrome type 2, Baller–Gerold syndrome, and RAPADILINO syndrome, all characterized by skeletal anomalies, growth deficiency, and elevated cancer predisposition. The protein localizes mainly to the nucleus and is expressed across multiple tissue types, which makes it a useful marker in studies of replication stress, DNA damage response, and tumor biology.

This Antibodies.com reagent is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against RECQL4, supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant. The antibody is unconjugated, allowing direct selection of detection chemistries for individual Western blot protocols, and has been validated to recognize the human, mouse, and rat orthologues of RECQL4. Typical loading amounts of 10–20 µg of total cellular protein per lane produce a clear band on standard PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes when combined with a horseradish peroxidase–conjugated secondary antibody and chemiluminescent substrate. Storage at –20 °C in small aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve activity over multi-month use.
