Recoverin is a 23 kDa calcium-binding EF-hand protein expressed primarily in retinal photoreceptors and selected bipolar cells, where it regulates rhodopsin phosphorylation in a calcium-dependent manner. Autoantibodies directed against recoverin are clinically significant in paraneoplastic neurological syndromes, most notably Cancer-Associated Retinopathy (CAR), where they cross-react with the same antigen in tumor tissue and retina, making this target a focus of both ophthalmology and neuroimmunology research. The unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the D143 region of human recoverin and has been validated for Western blot (WB), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples. It is supplied as a 50 µl aliquot at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and the buffer formulation is suitable for direct dilution into standard blocking and antibody diluent recipes used in immunolabeling of retinal sections and transfected cell models expressing recombinant recoverin.
