Recoverin (RCVRN) is a 23 kDa calcium-binding protein expressed in retinal photoreceptors and a subset of bipolar neurons, where it regulates deactivation of rhodopsin kinase within the phototransduction cascade. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against human recoverin, supporting investigations into photoreceptor biology, inherited retinal degeneration, and Cancer-Associated Retinopathy (CAR), a paraneoplastic autoimmune syndrome in which anti-recoverin autoantibodies have been documented in patient serum.
The reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) workflows. Supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum in an unconjugated format, the antibody provides flexibility to conjugate fluorophores, horseradish peroxidase, or biotin depending on the desired detection readout, and the human reactivity profile is well suited for studies of retinal tissue, photoreceptor cell lines, and recombinant recoverin preparations.
