RBP3 (retinol-binding protein 3), also known as interphotoreceptor retinoid-binding protein, is a large glycolipoprotein secreted by photoreceptors into the interphotoreceptor matrix, where it shuttles all-trans retinol and 11-cis retinal between the outer segments of rods and cones and the retinal pigment epithelium. Mutations in RBP3 have been linked to autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa, making the protein a frequent target in vision research and studies of inherited retinal disease.

Antibodies.com supplies this reagent as 100 µl in a vial of unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antiserum specific for human RBP3, for use in Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with any HRP-, fluorophore-, or biotin-conjugated secondary reagent of choice. Researchers commonly apply it to human retinal tissue sections, photoreceptor-derived cell lines, and transfected overexpression models, where it yields a band consistent with the full-length ~135 kDa RBP3 protein. For handling, aliquot upon arrival and store frozen; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity.
