RBP3, also known as Interphotoreceptor Retinoid-Binding Protein (IRBP), is a large retinoid carrier glycoprotein secreted by photoreceptors into the interphotoreceptor matrix, where it shuttles 11-cis- and all-trans-retinol between rod and cone outer segments and the retinal pigment epithelium. Loss-of-function mutations in RBP3 are causally linked to autosomal recessive retinitis pigmentosa, and altered expression has been reported in studies of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, making the protein a focus of retinal cell biology and ophthalmic disease research.

This rabbit polyclonal anti-RBP3 antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied as an unconjugated, preservative-stabilized liquid at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol, packaged in a 100 µl vial appropriate for multiple immunoblots and section-staining runs. The reagent was raised against human RBP3 and has been validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, supporting studies of photoreceptor-specific protein distribution in human retinal tissue and transfected cell models.
