The retinoblastoma (Rb) protein is a tumor suppressor and master controller of the G1/S cell-cycle checkpoint, exerting its growth-suppressive function by binding and inhibiting E2F transcription factors. Anti-Rb antibodies are indispensable reagents in oncology and cell-cycle research, used to probe Rb pathway status in retinoblastoma, osteosarcoma, small-cell lung carcinoma, and many other malignancies. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit, supplied unconjugated for maximum flexibility, and validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA workflows.

Cross-reactivity has been confirmed against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting both clinical specimen analysis and preclinical animal model studies. On western blot the antibody recognizes the full-length 110 kDa Rb protein together with its hyper- and hypophosphorylated forms, enabling investigation of Rb inactivation by cyclin-dependent kinase phosphorylation. In immunohistochemistry it allows visualization of nuclear Rb localization in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections. The unconjugated format permits pairing with HRP, fluorescent, or biotinylated secondary reagents according to the detection chemistry of choice.

Each vial contains 100 µl of antibody, generally sufficient for dozens of immunoblots or multiple staining runs depending on dilution. Store at -20 °C in small aliquots to preserve activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
