Anti-RARS Antibody

The polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human arginyl-tRNA synthetase (RARS), the cytoplasmic enzyme that charges tRNA^Arg with arginine during translation of the genetic code. Raised in rabbits and supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl liquid aliquot in a vial, this reagent is validated for western blot detection of endogenous RARS protein in cell lysates and for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, supporting research on aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase biology, translation quality control, and cytoplasmic protein synthesis.

RARS is incorporated into the multi-aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase complex through its leucine-zipper-like N-terminal extension, and pathogenic variants in the gene have been associated with hypomyelination and neurodegeneration, so reliable detection of the endogenous enzyme is useful for groups characterising these pathways. In western blot the antibody produces a band near the predicted molecular weight for full-length arginyl-tRNA synthetase, while IHC on human tissue yields cytoplasmic staining consistent with the enzyme's known distribution.
