This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically detects endogenous RAPGEF5 protein, a member of the Rap guanine nucleotide exchange factor family that is also referenced in the literature as GFR or MR-GEF. The reagent is validated for Western blot detection across human, mouse, and rat samples, making it a practical tool for comparative studies of Rap-mediated signalling in cell lines, primary cultures, and tissue extracts.

The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in 100 µl of phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2. For routine use, refrigerate at 4 °C; for extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve immunoreactivity. The unconjugated format allows the user to pair the antibody with their preferred HRP- or fluorophore-labelled secondary antibody for chemiluminescent or fluorescent Western blot detection.

RAPGEF5 contains a C-terminal catalytic CDC25 homology domain flanked by an N-terminal Ras-association (RA) domain and a PDZ domain, and it activates Rap1 and Rap2 GTPases downstream of M-Ras and integrin-based adhesion receptor signalling. Published work links RAPGEF5 activity to integrin-mediated cell adhesion, neurite outgrowth, synaptic plasticity, and glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, so this antibody is well suited to research programmes in neuroscience, metabolic disease, and cancer cell signalling where altered Rap activation is of interest.
