Anti-RAN Antibody

The Antibodies.com Anti-RAN polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and targets the Ras-related nuclear protein (RAN), a ~25 kDa GTP-binding protein central to nucleocytoplasmic transport. RAN GTPase activity drives importin-mediated cargo translocation across the nuclear pore complex, mediates reassembly of the nuclear envelope during telophase, and supports mitotic spindle assembly around chromatin.

Validated across western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, and RNA immunoprecipitation workflows, this unconjugated reagent detects endogenous RAN in human, mouse, and rat samples. Each 100 µl vial is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabiliser, allowing direct dilution into standard blocking buffers.

The polyclonal format yields recognition of multiple epitopes on the full-length RAN protein, which improves tolerance to minor denaturation differences between assays. Researchers investigating nuclear import/export pathways, cell cycle checkpoints, and mitotic regulation use this reagent for chromatin fractionation, immunoprecipitation of RAN-associated transport complexes, and immunofluorescent visualisation of nuclear localisation in fixed cells.
