For Western blot detection of human Raf1, this mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody (clone 163) from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 100 µg lyophilised preparation. Raf1 (also known as C-Raf) is a serine/threonine kinase that operates upstream of MEK and ERK in the MAPK signalling cascade and is frequently studied in the context of receptor tyrosine kinase signalling, oncogenic transformation, and cellular proliferation. The unconjugated antibody is validated for reactivity with human samples and is commonly used to probe Raf1 expression and phosphorylation state in cell lysates prepared from cultured mammalian lines, tumour-derived material, or stimulated primary cells, resolving the target at the expected molecular weight by SDS-PAGE followed by immunoblotting. Lyophilised antibody is reconstituted in sterile distilled water or a suitable buffer at the recommended concentration, aliquoted to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and stored at -20 °C (or colder for longer term storage) to preserve activity across multiple experiments. Because the reagent recognises Raf1, it pairs naturally with phospho-specific antibodies against MEK1/2 and ERK1/2 for pathway-level studies, and can be combined with upstream markers such as activated receptor tyrosine kinases or Ras to map signalling flux. Each vial is intended for research use only and is not for diagnostic or therapeutic application.
