RAF-1 (also called c-Raf) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that operates at the entry point of the classical MAPK/ERK signaling cascade, relaying growth and survival cues from activated Ras GTPases to MEK1/2 and onward to ERK1/2. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com recognizes endogenous RAF-1 and is validated for Western blot detection on human, mouse, and rat samples. Supplied as a 200 µl liquid aliquot of affinity-purified antiserum, it is intended for research use in studies of receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, oncogenic transformation, and downstream pathway activation. Researchers commonly apply it to whole-cell lysates prepared in standard RIPA buffer, then develop with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies and chemiluminescence to reveal a band at the predicted 73 kDa molecular weight of full-length RAF-1.
