The Anti-Rad51 polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and recognizes the Rad51 recombinase, a ~37 kDa protein that assembles nucleoprotein filaments on resected single-stranded DNA to drive homologous pairing and strand invasion during DNA double-strand break repair. This unconjugated IgG reagent is supplied as 50 µl of liquid in a vial and has been validated for western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence workflows across human, mouse, rat, chicken, and Xenopus samples.
Rad51 is widely used as a marker of homologous recombination activity in studies of BRCA1/BRCA2-deficient tumors, replication stress, meiotic recombination, and genotoxic responses, making this reagent useful for monitoring nuclear focus formation at sites of DNA damage and for IP-based pulldowns of repair complexes. For short-term use, store refrigerated at 4 °C; for longer-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Intended for research use only.
