Rad23A, also known as UV excision repair protein RAD23 homolog A, sits at the interface of nucleotide excision repair and the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, using its N-terminal ubiquitin-like domain and tandem ubiquitin-associated domains to ferry polyubiquitinated substrates toward the 26S proteasome. This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the full-length target, so it recognizes multiple epitopes simultaneously, which improves tolerance for partial degradation or denaturation during Western blot workflows and supports clean nuclear staining during immunohistochemistry of fixed tissue sections.

Each vial provides 100 µl of antibody at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, a cryoprotective formulation that allows storage at -20°C, protects the protein from light, and limits damage during routine freeze-thaw cycles. The unconjugated format leaves secondary antibody choice open, so the same lot can drive HRP-based chemiluminescence on nitrocellulose or PVDF membranes, or be paired with biotin- or polymer-based detection systems for chromogenic IHC. Polyclonal reactivity has been confirmed against human, mouse, and rat orthologues, covering the standard mammalian model systems used in DNA damage and proteostasis research.

Validated applications include Western blot and immunohistochemistry. The reagent is suited to studies of UV-induced DNA damage, nucleotide excision repair complex assembly, xeroderma pigmentosum complementation, and proteasome-dependent substrate turnover in mammalian cells.
