Rad17 is a checkpoint clamp loader that recruits the Rad9-Rad1-Hus1 (9-1-1) sliding clamp onto chromatin at stalled replication forks and sites of DNA damage, where it supports ATR-dependent signaling and S-phase checkpoint control.
