RAB5A is a small GTPase (~24 kDa) that serves as a master regulator of early endosome biogenesis and homotypic fusion, governing the earliest steps of receptor-mediated endocytosis and vesicular trafficking from the plasma membrane to early endosomes.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against RAB5A and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications, with demonstrated reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl liquid vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant.

Because RAB5A is the canonical marker of early endosomes, this antibody is widely used to track endocytic trafficking, monitor EGF receptor internalization, study synaptic vesicle recycling, and investigate autophagy initiation. It is also employed in oncology research, where dysregulated RAB5A expression has been linked to tumour cell proliferation and migration, and in neuroscience studies of neurodegenerative disease models where endolysosomal dysfunction is implicated.

For western blot, load 10–20 µg of total protein per lane, and for immunofluorescence, fix and permeabilise cultured cells or tissue sections before applying the antibody. Store the vial at –20 °C in working aliquots to minimise freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light during downstream handling.
