Raised in rabbit, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is directed against the phosphorylated form of PYK2 (also known as PTK2B or FAK2) at tyrosine 580, a key autophosphorylation site within the activation loop of this cytoplasmic non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase. It is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2, in a 100 µl single-use vial.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry, the reagent supports detection of the catalytically engaged pool of PYK2 across cultured cell lysates and formalin-fixed tissue sections. Reported reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples makes it practical for translational studies that compare rodent disease models with human clinical material. Phospho-site selectivity at Y580 lets researchers follow the dynamics of integrin signaling, calcium-driven cytoskeletal remodeling, neuronal calcium signaling, and immune cell activation, contexts in which the kinase is acutely switched on and off by phosphorylation.

Unconjugated output allows flexible pairing with the researcher's own secondary reagents, from HRP and biotin to fluorescent conjugates, depending on the imaging or detection platform. For routine handling, refrigerate the vial between uses, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycling, and protect from light when fluorescent secondaries are involved downstream.
