Anti-PUMA recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody targets the BH3-only pro-apoptotic protein PUMA (BBC3), a Bcl-2 family member that links p53 activation to mitochondrial apoptosis. Under DNA damage or oncogenic stress, PUMA transcription is induced by p53; the protein then displaces p53 from anti-apoptotic Bcl-xL and directly activates Bax, permeabilizing the mitochondrial outer membrane to release cytochrome c and trigger caspase-dependent cell death. Mouse knockout studies have shown PUMA is required for radiation- and p53-induced apoptosis in lymphocytes and intestinal epithelium.

Antibodies.com supplies this unconjugated reagent at 100 µl per vial, raised in rabbit and validated for western blot, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry on human, mouse, and rat samples. The format supports apoptosis research, cancer biology, DNA damage response studies, and characterization of the p53 tumor suppressor pathway. Each vial contains recombinant antibody in 1× TBS (pH 7.4), 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative, ready to dilute into standard immunostaining or lysis buffers.
