Pentraxin 3 (PTX3) is an acute-phase glycoprotein belonging to the long pentraxin family, secreted by macrophages, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, and neutrophils in response to inflammatory cues such as IL-1β, TNF-α, and microbial moieties. Its roles span complement activation, pathogen opsonization, matrix remodeling, and the regulation of angiogenesis, making it a useful molecular marker across immunology and vascular research.

This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against PTX3 and validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human samples. It is commonly used to map PTX3 expression in inflamed tissues, characterize tumor microenvironments, and track biomarker dynamics in sepsis, cardiovascular disease, and lung injury models.

Each vial contains 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum suitable for probing tissue sections and immunoblots where PTX3 localization is correlated with disease state or treatment response. The reagent is supplied as a liquid aliquot for research use only and should be stored refrigerated to preserve antibody activity across repeated experiments.
