Anti-PTS Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets 6-pyruvoyltetrahydropterin synthase (PTS), the enzyme catalyzing the second committed step of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) biosynthesis from dihydroneopterin triphosphate. Supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows and cross-reacts with the human, mouse, and rat proteins. PTS loss-of-function variants underlie autosomal recessive BH4-deficient hyperphenylalaninemia and DOPA-responsive dystonia (Segawa syndrome / DYT5a), so the reagent is broadly useful for studies of monoaminergic neurotransmitter synthesis, phenylalanine hydroxylase coupling, and disease modeling in patient-derived fibroblasts or knock-in mice. Aliquot upon receipt to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store at -20 °C; the glycerol and azide formulation preserves activity across routine immunoblotting, immunostaining of brain and adrenal tissue, and supporting biochemical characterization of the BH4 salvage pathway.
