The PTPN11 gene encodes SHP-2, a cytoplasmic tyrosine phosphatase that plays a central role in RAS/MAPK signaling, mitogenic response, and developmental patterning. Gain-of-function mutations in PTPN11 are causally linked to Noonan syndrome and LEOPARD syndrome, and somatic mutations are recurrent in juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia and several solid tumors, making the protein a routine target in signal transduction and oncology research.

This polyclonal antibody is raised in rabbit and is provided as an unconjugated IgG reagent in a 100 µl vial for research use only. It is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry on human samples, allowing detection of endogenous SHP-2 across a range of experimental readouts. The polyclonal format increases the likelihood of recognizing multiple epitopes, which is helpful when probing for naturally occurring variants or partially processed protein.

For handling, the antibody should be refrigerated for routine use; for long-term storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The reagent is supplied by Antibodies.com and is intended for laboratory research investigating RAS pathway biology, congenital disorder mechanisms, and cancer signaling.
