Anti-PTP1C Antibody [PTY11] - Identical to Thermo (MA1-26062)

This Mouse monoclonal antibody (clone PTY11) from Antibodies.com targets Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1 C (PTP1C), a tyrosine phosphatase highly expressed in hematopoietic cells. The antibody is of the IgG1 isotype, unconjugated, and validated for ELISA, WB, and ICC applications on human samples. It is supplied lyophilised, with concentration described as reconstitution dependent.

The immunogen is a purified recombinant protein corresponding to full-length PTP1-C. The antibody recognises a single 67kDa PTP1-C band in human cells that express the enzyme and the SH2(C) domain, with the epitope reported as Sp2/0-Ag14. The product is purified by Protein G affinity chromatography and lyophilised from a solution of 0.01M Phosphate Buffered Saline, pH 7.2, for reconstitution with double distilled water. It is shipped at 4°C; upon delivery the antibody should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided.

PTP1C participates in phosphorylation-based cell signalling by removing phosphate groups from protein residues, opposing the action of kinases. It has been reported to co-precipitate with the B lymphocyte-specific cell surface glycoprotein CD22 following anti-immunoglobulin stimulation, and studies using PTP1C deficient mice suggest a role for the phosphatase in negative selection in B cell immunity.
