Anti-PTMA Antibody

Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal IgG, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets PTMA (prothymosin alpha), a 12.5 kDa, highly acidic non-histone nuclear protein linked to chromatin remodeling, cell-cycle progression, and inhibition of apoptosome assembly. The reagent is validated for immunofluorescence (IF) on human specimens and is supplied in a single-use vial containing 50 µL of affinity-purified antibody. Researchers commonly apply it to fixed cell preparations to visualize the characteristic nuclear and cytoplasmic distribution of PTMA, in vitro, in studies of proliferation and apoptosis regulation. In oncology research, elevated PTMA expression has been reported as a prognostic indicator in hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and bladder cancer, supporting its use as a biomarker for tumor progression.
