Anti-PTMA Antibody [8H12]

Prothymosin alpha (PTMA) is a small, highly acidic nuclear protein first characterized through its role in T-cell maturation and now investigated across cell proliferation, chromatin remodeling, and apoptotic regulation. This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody, clone 8H12 of IgG2a isotype, recognizes the human PTMA sequence and is supplied by Antibodies.com as a lyophilised 100 µg aliquot suitable for reconstitution in working buffer.

For Western blotting the reagent is used to detect endogenous PTMA in cell lysates and tissue extracts, where the small size of the target protein (~12 kDa) makes careful gel selection important.
