Focal Adhesion Kinase (FAK), encoded by the PTK2 gene, is a non-receptor cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase localized at integrin-rich focal adhesions, where it couples extracellular matrix cues to downstream survival, proliferation, and cytoskeletal-remodeling pathways. Tyrosine 397 is the principal autophosphorylation site of FAK, generating a docking motif that recruits Src family kinases and is broadly monitored as a biochemical read-out of receptor and mechanical activation in cell adhesion, migration, and mechanotransduction studies.

The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent is raised against the phospho-Y397 epitope and is validated for Western blot detection on human and rat samples. The antibody is supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated polyclonal serum in a vial, intended for research use only, and is suitable for monitoring activation-state changes in FAK signaling in oncology, fibrosis, and cytoskeletal-regulation workflows where phospho-specific recognition of the activated kinase is required.
