This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent recognizes Focal Adhesion Kinase (PTK2) only when the autophosphorylation site at tyrosine 397 is occupied, making it a phospho-specific probe for the activated form of FAK. From Antibodies.com, the antibody is supplied unconjugated in a 100 µl vial and validated for western blot analysis of human and rat samples. Phospho-PTK2 (Y397) marks the catalytically engaged population that arises at nascent focal adhesions downstream of integrin clustering and growth factor receptor signaling, so the reagent is commonly used in studies of cell adhesion, cytoskeletal remodeling, mechanotransduction, and tumor cell migration. It is suited to kinase pathway activation work where the endogenous phosphorylation state at Y397 is the readout of interest. For storage, keep aliquoted and refrigerated, protect from light, and minimize freeze-thaw cycles to preserve phospho-epitope reactivity across multiple western blot experiments.
