This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes PTK2 (also known as Focal Adhesion Kinase, FAK) when phosphorylated at tyrosine 397. The Y397 residue is the principal autophosphorylation site of FAK, and its phosphorylation status is widely used as a read-out of integrin and growth-factor signaling activity in studies of cell adhesion, cytoskeletal remodeling, and mechanotransduction.

The reagent is supplied as 50 µl of unconjugated IgG in liquid format, raised in rabbit and validated for Western Blot. It shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat PTK2, supporting cross-species signaling studies in cell lines and primary tissue lysates. Researchers commonly use phospho-FAK (Y397) detection to monitor focal adhesion turnover, investigate Src-FAK complex formation, and probe integrin-linked signaling in cancer cell migration, angiogenesis, and fibroblast biology.

Because the antibody is unconjugated and provided in a single 50 µl vial, it can be paired with the user's preferred secondary reagent (HRP, fluorophore, or biotin) for Western Blot detection. For best results, prepare lysates with phosphatase inhibitors to preserve the Y397 modification, and store the vial refrigerated between experiments to maintain activity.
