Anti-PTGS1 Antibody

Rabbit polyclonal antibody supplied by Antibodies.com and raised against PTGS1, also known as COX1/Cyclooxygenase 1. The reagent is unconjugated, of IgG isotype, and validated for Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry, and Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence applications. It reacts with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.

The immunogen is a recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1–180 of human COX1/PTGS1 (NP_001258094.1). The antibody is provided as a liquid in Phosphate Buffered Saline, pH 7.3, with 50% glycerol and 0.02% sodium azide, and has been affinity purified. The reported molecular weight of the target is 69 kDa. Recommended dilutions are WB 1:500–1:2,000, IHC 1:100–1:200, and ICC/IF 1:50–1:200. The product is shipped at 4°C; upon delivery it should be aliquoted and stored at −20°C, with freeze/thaw cycles avoided.

PTGS1 encodes prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 1, an enzyme and FDA approved drug target classified within the cancer-related gene family. Tissue expression is enhanced in skin and urinary bladder, and the protein localises to the Golgi apparatus and vesicles (intracellular). The gene maps to chromosome 9 (122370530–122395703).
