Anti-PTEN Antibody

Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal IgG reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets PTEN (Phosphatase and tensin homolog) and is supplied as 50 µl of liquid antisera for detection of endogenous PTEN protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. The reagent is validated for Western blot analysis of cell lysates and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed tissue sections, where it can be used to monitor loss of PTEN expression in tumor models and downstream activation of the PI3K-AKT-mTOR signaling cascade. Because PTEN normally dephosphorylates the 3-prime phosphoinositide products of PI3K to oppose AKT activation, its deletion or silencing drives the proliferation and survival phenotypes seen in Cowden syndrome and in sporadic prostate, endometrial, and breast cancers. Recommended handling calls for storage at -20 °C, with aliquoting suggested to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve IgG reactivity across multiple experiments.
