Raised in rabbit against the 26S proteasome non-ATPase regulatory subunit 8, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as cryoprotectant. The 100 µl vial provides ready-to-use reagent for Western blot, immunohistochemistry on paraffin and frozen sections, and immunofluorescence staining of cultured cells or tissue specimens.

PSMD8, also annotated as Rpn12 in yeast nomenclature, sits in the 19S lid subcomplex of the regulatory particle and contributes to recognition of polyubiquitinated substrates destined for proteasomal turnover. The antibody was raised against a recombinant fragment of the human protein and binds conserved epitopes, giving broad reactivity across Human, Mouse, and Rat samples. Laboratories studying regulated protein turnover, ER-associated degradation, and the ubiquitin-proteasome system use this reagent to monitor steady-state proteasome assembly, response to proteasome inhibitors, and altered subunit expression in cancer, neurodegeneration, and muscle-wasting models.

Aliquot upon first use and store at -20 °C in working volumes to limit freeze-thaw cycles; the glycerol carrier preserves antibody activity for long-term storage. Avoid additional sodium azide when planning downstream conjugation or live-cell labeling, and dilute in standard blocking buffer for blotting applications.
