PSMC5 (also known as SUG1 or p45) is an ATPase subunit of the 26S proteasome regulatory particle, responsible for the ATP-dependent unfolding and translocation of polyubiquitinated substrates toward the 20S catalytic core. Antibodies.com offers a rabbit polyclonal primary antibody raised against this proteasomal ATPase, validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, enabling flexible labeling and detection chemistry in the user's own laboratory. Because PSMC5 is constitutively expressed across many tissues, anti-PSMC5 antibodies are commonly used to investigate 26S proteasome assembly, AAA-ATPase ring stoichiometry, and altered proteasomal activity in disease models.

Researchers studying protein homeostasis, ubiquitin-proteasome pathway regulation, and stress-induced proteasome remodeling routinely employ this reagent for immunoblotting band identification at the expected molecular weight, subcellular localization studies by immunofluorescence, and tissue-level expression profiling by immunohistochemistry.
