This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against PSMC2 (also called MSS1), an ATPase subunit of the 19S regulatory particle of the 26S proteasome that powers ubiquitin-dependent protein turnover in eukaryotic cells. The unconjugated antibody is supplied at 100 µl per vial and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, detecting the endogenous human, mouse, and rat protein across comparative tissue and cell models.

PSMC2 sits within the AAA+ ATPase ring of the regulatory lid and contributes the energy needed to unfold and translocate polyubiquitinated substrates into the 20S core. Researchers studying proteostasis, ER-associated degradation, and the cellular response to proteasome inhibitors commonly probe for PSMC2 to track holoenzyme integrity, assembly intermediates, and shifts in regulatory-particle stoichiometry under stress or pharmacological challenge.

For western blot, the reagent works well with standard PVDF or nitrocellulose membranes and chemiluminescent detection; for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections, antigen retrieval in citrate buffer at pH 6 is recommended. Aliquot upon arrival and store at -20 °C in working volumes if repeated freeze-thaw cycles are expected, to preserve antibody activity across multiple experiments.
