PSMC2 (Proteasome 26S Subunit ATPase 2) is one of six ATPase subunits (Rpt1–Rpt6) that assemble into the 19S regulatory particle of the 26S proteasome, the multi-subunit complex responsible for ubiquitin-dependent protein turnover in eukaryotic cells. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets PSMC2 and is intended for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows using human, mouse, and rat samples.

Supplied as a 100 µl vial at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility to pair the antibody with their own secondary detection chemistry. The polyclonal composition offers multi-epitope recognition of the target, which is useful when probing expression of regulatory proteasome subunits across tissues, during cell cycle progression, or under conditions that alter proteasome activity.

Because PSMC2 contributes directly to the unfolding and translocation of polyubiquitinated substrates into the 20S core, altered expression or dysfunction of this subunit has been examined in studies of proteasome assembly, stress response pathways, and disease contexts where proteasomal activity is disrupted. Researchers in cancer biology, neuroscience, and cell biology rely on PSMC2 detection to monitor proteasome integrity, characterize 26S subunit composition, and explore post-translational regulation of protein homeostasis.
