The Antibodies.com polyclonal antibody targets PSMA5, the proteasome subunit alpha 5 that forms part of the 20S core particle responsible for ubiquitin-independent proteolysis. Raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, this unconjugated reagent is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows on human, mouse, and rat samples.

PSMA5 (also called alpha-5 or Macrocypsin subunit zeta) sits in the outer α-ring of the proteasome and contributes to the chymotrypsin-like activity that degrades damaged or regulatory cellular proteins. Researchers studying proteasome composition, antigen processing, NF-κB signaling, and proteostasis in cancer and neurodegeneration models use anti-PSMA5 antibodies to confirm subunit incorporation and to compare proteasome content across tissues or treatment conditions.

The 100 µl aliquot is provided as a liquid ready for dilution in standard antibody buffers. For western blot, a working concentration around 1–2 µg/ml is typical; for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin sections, antigen retrieval in citrate buffer pH 6 is recommended. Store refrigerated at 4 °C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve activity; the glycerol in the formulation prevents freezing at this temperature.

This reagent is supplied for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
