PSMA2 (proteasome subunit alpha type 2) is a structural component of the 20S proteasome core, the catalytic chamber that carries out ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation in eukaryotic cells. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent, distributed by Antibodies.com, was raised against PSMA2 and recognizes the protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. It is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows, making it a versatile tool for laboratories studying proteasome assembly, antigen processing, and cellular protein turnover.

The antibody is supplied in a vial containing 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. The glycerol-containing buffer allows storage at -20 °C and protects the protein from freeze-thaw damage during routine use, while the small amount of sodium azide prevents microbial contamination of working dilutions. Because the host species is rabbit, secondary detection reagents should be anti-rabbit IgG conjugates such as HRP, fluorophore, or biotin, and standard blocking in 5% non-fat milk or BSA is appropriate for immunoblotting. The polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes on the approximately 26 kDa PSMA2 polypeptide, supporting robust signal on western blots of whole-cell lysates and clear staining patterns in fixed cells and paraffin-embedded tissue sections depending on the chosen application.
