Anti-PSMA Antibody [YPSMA-2]

The YPSMA-2 clone recognizes human Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), a type II transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the FOLH1 gene and overexpressed in prostatic adenocarcinoma. Produced by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated Mouse IgG2b monoclonal, this reagent is supplied lyophilised at 100 µg per vial for reconstitution in laboratory buffers.

Validated applications include immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded prostate tissue, where it labels the luminal epithelium of prostatic glands with intensified staining observed in malignant glands relative to benign tissue. The antibody also detects PSMA in ELISA formats using cell lysates or tissue homogenates. Beyond prostate epithelium, PSMA immunoreactivity has been reported in the neovasculature of non-prostatic solid tumors, including renal cell carcinoma, supporting broader oncology research applications.

Lyophilisation provides ambient-temperature shipment and stable long-term storage when reconstituted aliquots are kept refrigerated. Each preparation retains activity through multiple freeze-thaw cycles when handled in single-use aliquots.
