The YPSMA-1 clone is a well-characterized mouse monoclonal reagent widely used in prostate cancer research. It targets Prostate Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA), a transmembrane glutamate carboxypeptidase II encoded by the FOLH1 gene that is markedly overexpressed in prostatic adenocarcinoma and in the neovasculature of many solid tumours. This unconjugated IgG2b antibody is supplied lyophilised from Antibodies.com and is functionally identical to the well-known reference reagent ab19071, enabling direct comparison with previously published staining protocols and existing datasets.

Validated applications include immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues and ELISA. In IHC the clone reliably labels luminal prostate epithelium and produces strong membranous staining in PSMA-positive carcinoma specimens, making it a useful marker for confirming prostate origin in undifferentiated metastatic lesions. The reagent is reactive with human PSMA and does not cross-react with rodent orthologues, a feature worth noting when planning xenograft or syngeneic animal-model studies where endogenous host expression could complicate interpretation.

Each vial contains 100 µg of antibody. Lyophilised material should be reconstituted with sterile distilled water or appropriate buffer; for short-term use refrigerate reconstituted aliquots, and for longer storage keep frozen in working aliquots at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Protect from light and avoid repeated freeze-thaw of the reconstituted stock.
