Anti-PSEN1 Antibody

Rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against Presenilin 1 (PSEN1), supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated IgG reagent [C0, S1]. The antibody is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications, with the manufacturer's data also listing immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) as a tested application [S1]. Reactivity is reported against Human and Mouse samples [C0, S1], with the manufacturer additionally indicating Rat reactivity [S1]. The target, Presenilin 1, is encoded by the PSEN1 gene on chromosome 14 (Ensembl ID: ENSG00000080815) and is described as a low tissue-specificity, predicted membrane and intracellular protein localised to the nucleoplasm, Golgi apparatus and cell junctions [S3].

The immunogen used was a recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 290–380 of human Presenilin 1 (NP_000012.1) [S1]. The product is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate Buffered Saline (pH 7.3) containing 50% glycerol and 0.01% thiomersal, purified by affinity chromatography, with a stated molecular weight of 52 kDa for the target [S1]. Recommended working dilutions are 1:500–1:2,000 for Western blot and 1:50–1:200 for both IHC and ICC/IF [S1].

Storage instructions are to ship at 4 °C, then aliquot and store at –20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze/thaw cycles [S1, S2].
