Anti-PSAP Antibody

Raised in rabbit against the human prosaposin (PSAP) target, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is intended for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples. It is supplied as 100 µl of liquid antiserum and binds the PSAP precursor protein, which is processed intracellularly into saposins A, B, C and D that support sphingolipid hydrolysis in lysosomes. Researchers studying Gaucher disease, Krabbe disease and metachromatic leukodystrophy, where PSAP mutations impair lysosomal lipid catabolism, can use this reagent to confirm expression in patient-derived cell lines and tissue sections. Immunoblots typically reveal a band in the expected pro-protein mass range, while IHC on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections produces cytoplasmic staining consistent with the lysosomal localization of mature saposins.
