Anti-PSAP Antibody

This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets PSAP (Prosaposin), a lysosomal glycoprotein precursor that is proteolytically processed into four small saposin activator peptides (Saposin A, B, C, and D). PSAP plays a central role in sphingolipid catabolism by activating lysosomal hydrolases such as glucocerebrosidase and galactosylceramidase, and inherited deficiencies in the PSAP gene and its saposin products are associated with neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorders including Gaucher disease and metachromatic leukodystrophy. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows. It cross-reacts with human, mouse, and rat samples, making it useful for comparative studies of lysosomal trafficking, sphingolipid metabolism, and the reported neurotrophic and tumor-associated signaling functions of prosaposin in cell and tissue models.
