PRPF31 (Pre-mRNA Processing Factor 31) is a core component of the U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP complex, essential for the assembly and catalytic activation of the spliceosome during pre-mRNA splicing. Heterozygous loss-of-function mutations in PRPF31 are a leading cause of autosomal dominant retinitis pigmentosa (adRP), and reduced PRPF31 expression has been linked to disruption of nuclear speckles and Cajal bodies in patient-derived retinal cells.

The Antibodies.com anti-PRPF31 antibody is a rabbit polyclonal reagent that recognizes endogenous PRPF31 and has been validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated format allows researchers to pair it with their preferred secondary antibody and detection chemistry, supporting flexible experimental design across RNA splicing, retina biology, and neurodegenerative disease workflows.

Typical uses include probing PRPF31 levels in retinal tissue and photoreceptor cell models, mapping its nuclear compartmentalization during spliceosome assembly, and screening splicing-factor expression in retinitis pigmentosa studies. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl vial; for best stability, store at -20 °C and aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Protect from light. Research use only.
