PROK1, also called EG-VEGF (endocrine gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor), is a secreted signaling protein linked to tissue-specific angiogenesis, reproductive biology, and inflammatory responses. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised against the human PROK1 sequence and cross-reacts with mouse and rat orthologues, supporting comparative studies across standard laboratory models.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, giving laboratories working volume for multiple blotting experiments. Because sodium azide is included as a preservative, the reagent should not be used in live-cell or in vivo applications; for those uses an azide-free preparation should be substituted. Store the vial at -20°C in single-use aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect the antibody from light during handling.

Validation has been performed for Western blot, where the polyclonal mixture can recognize multiple epitopes on PROK1 and is useful for detecting endogenous expression in cell lysates and tissue homogenates. Researchers investigating placental vascularization, ovarian follicle function, or neurogenic signaling pathways can use this reagent to detect endogenous PROK1 across the validated species. The unconjugated format also allows users to pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibodies, giving flexibility in detection chemistry.

Intended for research use only, the antibody is provided in a single vial and should be handled with standard laboratory PPE owing to the sodium azide content.
