Anti-Profilin-2 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets Profilin-2, a small actin-monomer-binding protein that regulates actin polymerization at the leading edge of cells and at synaptic sites. Profilin-2 is the brain-enriched isoform of the profilin family and binds both G-actin and poly-L-proline ligands, linking phosphoinositide signalling to synaptic vesicle endocytosis and dendritic spine remodelling. Researchers use western blot detection of Profilin-2 to study actin dynamics in differentiating neurons, glioblastoma invasion models, and cytoskeletal responses in non-neuronal cell lines challenged with growth factors or mechanical stretch. The polyclonal format increases epitope coverage on Profilin-2, supporting detection of the approximately 140 amino acid, around 15 kDa endogenous protein in lysates prepared from human, mouse and rat tissues.

Storage recommendations are to keep the vial refrigerated, protect it from light, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by working from small aliquots.
